How do I fix my TI-84 Plus Silver Edition?

Is TI-84+ Silver Edition better than the original TI-84+?

  • l just bought a ti84 from walmart and was reading online and the manual and l kinda feel like the company and other people are downgrading the original ti84, saying the silver one is better. l really liked the silver's look and stuff, but not it's 120 dollar price tag. l still wuv my original one to bits, but is the silver actually better?

    There's not that much of a difference between the TI-84 Plus and its Silver Edition counterpart. The only hardware modification Texas Instruments made was the increase of Flash ROM memory from 480 KB to 1.5 MB. Other than that, the TI-84 Plus comes with a lot more preloaded applications, but you can download them all for free and transfer them to your regular TI-84 Plus if you wish. The SE also allows its faceplate to be changed, allowing the user to change its appearance. But all in all, there's really not a large enough difference. Each one functions similarly. Neither is faster or better in terms of speed or execution. A regular TI-84 Plus would be good enough for me (and it is).

According to Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TI-84_Plus_series , it's pretty much the same in term of functionality. The only differences would be that TI-84 has some extra pre-loaded programs, one of them is notably App4math, whose free Edition can be obtained on http://www.zoommath.com/app4math anyway.
