How do I update my iPhone firmware without losing my jailbreak and my Cydia repos and packages?
-
I want to update my firmware so that some of the new apps from the app store and packages from cydia are compatible with my firmware but I don't want to go through all of the modifications to get the iPhone back to it's current customizations. Is there any way to accomplish this.

Answer:
Go to cydia and search "AptBackup" this backs up all your jailbreak data, do some google research beforehand and learn how to use it. When your ready, just restore your iphone in itunes and jailbreak it...id recommend using the latest version of redsn0w with 5.0.1 firmware.
