What are the 3 basic functions of social work?

If i buy a blackberry and donot get a service for email and other functions will the basic functions work?

• i mean if i get like a prepaid connection will the phone work to make call text and the basics of a cell phone i don't want email acess or will i have to have that package for phone to work

Also, access to BlackBerry Messenger won't work, nor will BlackBerry Maps. Also, depending on the carrier, you might be required to get a data plan. I know Verizon requires a data plan for people who purchase BlackBerrys.
