What is a gps card?

My husband wants a GPS card for his iPAQ, I can't find it! Also looking for some sort of camera card? Help!

• My husband has an iPAQ PDA and wants some cool accessories for it for Christmas. He mentioned two items and I can't find either. One is a GPS card that you put into the iPAQ and it becomes a functioning GPS device. The other is some sort of camera card that turns the iPAQ into a digital camera. If anyone can find new, up-to-date accessories that would work on the iPAQ, I would be really grateful!!!

  by the time you buy both of those, you could probably spring for a whole new iPAQ with both of those things built-in. Check out the iPAQ 6900 series, with GPS and a camera built in. They've been out for a little while now, so they'll have come down in price too. If you really want an addon GPS, you can do it two ways. Either a bluetooth GPS if the iPAQ supports bluetooth, or as you said, an addon card. You didn't mention what kind of card slot his iPAQ has - if its an older one, you'll need a Compact Flash GPS model like this one: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/holuxcfhw.php. If you use those keywords, you'll find many more. If its a newer iPAQ, then you'll need an SDIO GPS (you know SD memory cards? well this is the I/O (input-output) version of those). To help you find a camera, just work out what type of slot the ipaq has (Compact Flash, or SDIO) and then search for "SDIO Camera" in google. You should turn up a few useful links to help you find something in your price range. There's a simple way to work out what kind of slot your hubby's iPAQ has. If he often has it inserted into a black plastic sleeve, then it's Compact Flash - however, if he just uses it on its own, and the memory cards go into the ipaq without requiring additional accessories like plastic sleeves, then its probably SDIO.
