Blackberry Desktop Manager wont install?!?

I desperately need blackberry desktop manager to install but when i try to download it, it says blackberry desktop software requires that a visual c ++ 2008 redistributable package is installed. What does this mean?!! I don't know why its not downloading and i desperately need it to be installed
