Why do smartphones have so little memory?

Why most of today's smartphones are not providing the memory card slot?

• i wonder why smartphone companies like nokia ,apple,samsung,etc not giving the memory card slot..

• Answer:

  Well memory card slots are obviously external, and nowadays smartphones have little hard disks. This technique sure have two advantages. 1) User can't use external memory card which is useful. Some users may not know about the memory card class or company they are using. So it will not affect the phone's performance. 2) Using internal memory chips which are embedded on mobile's board gives faster access and performance than memory cards. Hope it helps.
