What's the difference between a US version PSP and a Japan version PSP?

Does the psp 3000 come updated with version 5.50?

• Hey everyone i'm thinking of buying my first psp and im wondering if it will come already installed with firmware 5.50. I'm hoping it won't because i want to put Chickhen on there. If it does is there a way to downgrade it other than buying and using pandora battery? also should i buy the 3000 version or the 2000 version? I heard the 3000 has better graphics, anti-reflective screen, and response time but when you actually play a game are you actually able to tell the difference between the 2?

  no, if u buy a new one and not a used one. it will start with the earliest update if u buy a new one.but if u buy a used one it depends on wut the last person who owned it put on the psp.and yes u can tell the difference because i have a 3000 and my friend has a 2000. for ur middle question there is no way to downgrade it that i know of yet. but im prettysure they are working on that and im pretty sure they are working on making a chickHEN for 5.50.
