What is the latest software version for the Blackberry Curve 8520?

What version of software does the Blackberry curve 8520 and 8900?

  • I heard that the latest software was v4.5? and what's the difference between EDGE and OS 4.6.1 or OS 5.0? And lastly, do you know which of these two will be faster when connected on wi-fi? Thanks!

    EDGE is the "2G" data network that AT&T uses for your blackberry to receive and trasmit data. I'm not familiar with what the current OS is for either... although i bet the 8520 is using the newer 5.0 OS... the 8900? not sure... this is just the previous version of the curve so i imagine they might still be on a 4.5 or 4.6 os and may upgrade to 5.0 sometime in the near future. the new 5.0 OS is noticeably faster in all aspects in all of models of blackberries i have tested (storm 2, bold 9700, curve 8520 and 8530...) btw, i would choose the BLACKBERRY BOLD 9700 if you can!
