How to change the number of a sim?

Does my number change when i get a new sim card?

• Ive gotten a side kick 08 on a pay by day plan but i cant use the phone so i changed my plan 2 a side kick prepaid plan but now i cant receive phone calls or send or receive text messages t mobile told me 2 come 2 the store n get a new sim card Will the number stay or change and if the number doesn't change will the money i had on da previous sim card be transferred over because i dnt wanna lose 60 dollars.

  Your SIM card is attached to your phone number. If you buy a new phone and swap the SIM card with your old one, you will have the same number, as well as any info you have saved to the card. If you use the new SIM card, your number will be the same, but you will lose any info you have saved on the card. The only time your number will change is if you request a new phone number.
