Does Bluetooth work on an inactive phone?

Will STEREO bluetooth headset work with my phone?

• hi everyone, im looking to buy a stereo bluetooth headset for my phone to listen to music with, because i hate all the wires and stuff. i wanted to see if any of u know if it will work with W300i, it is a sony ericsson phone, with mp3 player and bluetooth. the one that im going to buy is also sony ericsson, and 1 more thing, if i upgrade my phone to like a nokia or motorola phone, will it still work? or will it be only for sonyericsson? thanks

  The most important factor that will determine if your phone will work with stereo bluetooth is if your phone supports the A2DP functionality of Bluetooth. You can check your manual or search the internet. Basically, most phones that have Bluetooth come with these standards, but carriers such as Verizon will disable that functionality on some phones. IF you upgrade your phone, make sure that A2DP is not disabled. There are great resources out their such as Phonescoop.com that will list all the phones features for you so you don't have to read that brick of a manual! On Phonescoop.com, just search for your phone model, look down the list until you get to the Bluetooth section, and it will tell you which functionalities are still enabled.
