Does Nintendo repair DS games without a warranty?

My DS Lite's hinge cracked! (more inside)?

• hey everyone, thanks for reading this... last night i was playing my DS and when i shut it, it made this odd crackly noise. i knew it was coming from the hinge, but couldn't find anything wrong. .i went online and found that other people had their hinge cracked with no abuse to the DS.. i went back and found a crack on the right side of the hinge... i've had my DS Lite for over a year, and i didn't get a special warranty either. i checked on nintendo.com and they said it will cost about 80 US dollars to repair it! i'm not sure if i should try to get it repaired (the upper screen is flimsy, and wont stay upright--it's really annoying, and i'm afraid ill make the problem worse so i haven't been playing it.) or do you think it would be just better to get a new DS at 50 US dollars more than the repair cost, about $130.00 US dollars... i dont have enough money for either one of those options, and i dont think nintendo will replace mine >_< what should i do?

This will totally fix your problem for like $10.00 ! Voila! You have fixed your DS Lite!
