I want to know how to put custom firware onto my psp 3000, and what i can do with it. Id like the latest and greatest software.

First you must check that your firmware in 5.03 or less then only you can continue installing CFW on it through CFW you can play backup UMD games and homebrews etc etc. currently there are 2 CFWs for psp-3000 CFWenabler and 5.03 gen-a
