Need help with blackberry pearl?

Im getting a blackberry pearl today in the mail,,,, need help with the applications that i cant installl?

  • ok so im getting my blackberry pearl in the mail today.. i already have a bunch of links of applications that i want to install in it.. like google maps, aim, themes, color trackball, this news thing, etc.... what i wanted to know is, for like google maps can i use it free whenever i want? or do i get charged monthly or anything for using it?.. also for the aim that i download and install, can i use that for free to without it charging me it as a text message? because i only have the unlimitade internet not the text messaging..................... ...................... also should i buy a member card for it to save these apps.? would appreaciate your help.. thanks

    Google maps uses data so if you have a data plan your ok. OZ Messenger( the client built into the pearl) that uses AIM/ICQ/Yahoo!/MSN Messenger charges PER message via TEXT so you will pay per text if you dont have a messaging plan, an alternative is to download and use JiveTalk (http://www.beejive.com/) its free and allows you to message the same as OZ messenger but over DATA instead of messaging so it will be free for you, provided you have a data plan.

google maps i believe uses your internet plan, so you dont have to worry about it charging you more. i think it should come already with AIM, mine did but yes it does charge you for text, i would recommend you add unlimited text. its very easy to text on the pearl and you will get carried away with it. i dont know if you can save the apps on a memory card, never tried it. but at least save them on your pc so you can have a copy of it incase you need to delete it off your phone. if you need any other help, let me know [email protected]
