  • Answer:

I have a Tungsten T5. It runs Palm-OS. You don't say if your palm runs Windows Mobile or Palm-OS. It matters. I use RealPlayer to play songs. It came with the device. I don't use the download feature of the software. I use RealPlayer on the PC to take songs from CD's and create music files. I then use DriveMode to copy them to the audio directory on my Palm 1GB memory card. I do not have Windows media, it may work just as well. You will also need headphones, earplugs, speakers or some other device to listen to music since the internal speaker is awlful. In order to transfer music files, you will need to connect the USB wire from your palm to your computer in order to transfer files. If you use DriveMode, your Palm devices will look like external hard drives to your PC. Copy the files to the AUDIO directory. Disconnect cleanly, Use Safely remove hardware on your PC, then Press Turn Drive mode off on the palm. If you are using Windows Media to transfer files, I cannot help you.

You can use it as a ipod by using Pocket Tunes. You will have to install the desktop software and then go to Palm Quick Install and add files into the space shown and yes, you need a wire. The wire should have came with the Palm Pilot, but you can go online to www.palm.com and you can listen to music on the Palm Pilot by using Pocket Tunes. The wire will have to be plugged in the USB port to allow the flow of data and as I said earlier, you need to go to Palm Quick Install and add files into the space given. All Palm Pilots have built in speaker , but the Z22 is an exception. You can also beam data to other Palm Pilots.
