Why can't I download apps on my android phone?

My HTC Wildfire S wont open or download apps. PLease help.?

When I tried to open apps (the ones from the android market that i downloaded) and it said something like it cant open it. Then I deleted all my apps and see if I could put them back on. When I tried to download one it says "Application cannot be installed in the default location." My phone has terrible storage put I have an SD card and the apps I tried to download can go on it. PLease HELP I just got this phone too! Thanks in advanced!
Answer:

Hi.Try clearing the cache & data from the market itself (settings,apps,manage apps,market). Then try turning off phone and removing battery plus sim.Then see if market works.
