Blackberry storm question?

  • The blackberry storm is out and I want one. I see that everywhere I look I see that verizon wireless put it out. Does this mean on verizon customers can get it? I'm with a company called celluar south and they are awesome. Unlimited everything. Can I get a storm with my company?or only with verizon? Also how much are they?heard they were at 199 with a plan but I just seen one at moblecity.com for 599. Thanks for answering both questions.

    Yes, unfortunately only verizon costumers can get this phone. You will not be able to get the storm with Cellular South. With verizon they are $199.99 (after rebate) for 2-year contract, $269.99 (after rebate) for 1-year contract, and $499 for no commitment, you could use it for a month then get a new phone. If you were to buy it for $499 the phone would still be locked to verizon here in the US. You could go to Europe and get vodafone or any other gsm carrier though.

The storm is exclusive to VZW right now.. There is a chance that if the company you have allows outside equipment to be hooked up that you can use it with your service.. But if you do that you are looking at retail price which is 499.99 =( sign up with VZW and its 200.00 after 50.00 rebate... Second question: yes there is usually an exclusivity deal with the carrier for a year or 2 and then other carriers can get it.. As for the videos, th reason the don't play well is the network you have is probably not that strong and cant support a streaming video or data on top of the wireless calls it carries. .A lot of times smaller carriers rent towers from the bigger carriers and get limited coverage.. I have watched youtube on the storm and it plays like my home computer! Hope this helps

i HIGHLY doubt other companies will get the storm. its sort of a verizon exclusive. Bold would probably play vids better than the one you have since the bold is the release right before the storm. it wont play them as well as the storm does, but it will play them! :)
