Is BlackBerry OS 6 compatible with Curve 8520?

Cannot upgrade BlackBerry Curve 8520 to OS 5, help!?

  • It was an unlocked, brand new phone I bought from Ebay. However, it came with OS 4.6 pre-installed. Also, there is no specific carrier the phone belongs since it is unlocked. I have the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software installed, and I have tried countless times to download the latest OS 5 to my phone. But there is always a problem! The connection is either lost before the new software is download, or the software is downloaded but out of nowhere it starts to reboot over and over again, or there is a fatal error, or it cannot connect to the device, or it has a blank white screen with an Error on it! Please, does anyone know how to successfully load the software on it? Without it having any issues? Thanks!

    You need to delete all the vendor.xml files first, then update.

hi please go to your phone option at the security option, security wipe, key in the word Blackberry is you wanted to wipe the handset, please be warn that all data will be deleted. after the device been wipe, tryagain to upgrade your phone, hopefully this help. Thank you Mobilecode UK
