Custom firmware for PSP?

• Ok, babystepping toward custom firmware-ing my psp. I have a fat PSP, been doing the network updates. Up to latest 3.72. I see now there is a custom 3.72 FW -HX, but in order to install 3.72-HX I need to cut the 5th pin of my battery, which will set me back to fw 1.50 (which is called Pandora's Battery), then I can install the 3.72-HX firmware? Is that right?

  I haven't kept up in the last few weeks as far as the psp scene, but I think Pandora's battery is probably the only way you can downgrade 3.72... The battery only has 3 pins, and you don't want to cut any of them... If you know someone who already has a psp with cfw, then you're in business... you can follow the instructions to create Pandora's battery on your friends psp and use that to downgrade to 1.5... then you can upgrade to whatever firmware you want. Also, you may want to stick w/ the M33 cfw's.. they've been tested and work well... I'm not sure what the -HX has different, but chances are it's just a rip-off of M33's work. Do you have a PSP w/ cfw available to you? EDIT: You could go on ebay and buy a Pandora's battery..
