What is the "Media Manager" on the Blackberry Desktop?

Blackberry pearl desktop manager help!!!?

  • I recently got a blackberry pearl. I used the desktop manager CD that my phone came with and loaded it to my computer. I am able to access the media manager with no problems. I can add, pictures and ringtones from online to my phone with no problem. But i cant get the application loader to work. I want to add games and new themes but everytime i try to use the application loader it says "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator." I even went to the website and downloaded the V4.2 service pack-that didnt help. I even tried on a different computer and it said the same thing on the application loader. I have the blackberry pearl 8100 from att (formerly cingular) if that helps. 10 POINTS TO ANYONE WHO CAN SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!

    Theres a more recent version of the Desktop Manager (v. 4.3) download that. First uninstall the old software on your PC. Next save and backup any contancts on your BlackBerry Device and go to options /security / wipe to completely erase and make the BlackBerry Pearl go back to original fresh settings. Now install the New and more recent software, restart your PC(important!) plug your BlackBerry in, run the software and your problem should be fixed -
