ITouch 4th Generation problem. Can anyone be of professional assistance?
-
I have recently received an iTouch 4th Generation. It has been shipped with 5.0.0. firmware. After using it normally, I decided to attempt downgrading it to 4.3.3. in order to implement the only untethered jailbreak available. That didn't work, since the firmware was shipped as 5.0.0. and that was practically a "base" firmware as I have heard. So I knew that there was a tethered jailbreak available for 5.0.1. from Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d. So I decided to download that, and after setting up Cydia with Hackulo, and getting Appsync & such, I synced the torrented apps I had available. After using it for a day or so. The device ceased to output any sound. So I restored it back to it's normal state. And tethered jailbroke it again. Then I used hackulo and such and tried Installous, Infinidock, etc. And afterwards I saw they released an Add-On in Cydia called "Corona 5.0.1. Untether" which claimed to just add on to the current tether and make it untethered. Why not? I installed it. After a while, I couldn't get iTunes to find the iTouch whenever I plugged it back in. So I restored it again and saw that there finally was a Jailbreak Untethered available for A4 iOS devices. I downloaded Redsn0w 0.9.10b2 and jailbroke it again. I don't remember if I did anything else with Cydia or syncing after that. So then in the midst of my surfing on Safari, a weird and continuous graphical glitch occurred. The screens contrast seemed to go up, so it looks whitish, and the almost the whole bottom half of the screen looks like a blinking fashion that goes in lines, whitish too. I panicked and tried a reset, a restore, a turn-off, a jailbreak again, and all controls and touch screen work as they did when the glitch began. I can see everything still working properly except the extremely unbalanced contrast and the blinking on the bottom. It is some sort of graphical glitch I think. I do not know what to do. NOTE: The graphical glitch started randomly and continued. It does not stop. It was even visible at the Apple logo, the Jailbreak progress screen, and just normal usage. My computer's windows installer doesn't work properly either, and I'm pretty sure it was before the incident. I don't know if it is a registry error or what. I also tried restoing the iTouch on a different computer, and that doesn't work either, The glitch is still there. Someone help. Please.

Answer:
Reading about your screen glitches, I think that may be a hardware problem. But try using the latest redsn0w (As of 30th December 2011, it's redsn0w 0.9.10b3). The latest redsn0w fixes all the issues with iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak, If the screen glitches remain, restore to a factory iOS 5.0.1 & visit the nearest Apple store to get your iTouch checked.
