What's wrong with my blackberry curve battery?

  • I got a blackberyy curve from verizon about 4 months ago, and it's worked amazing until a few days ago. It seems like no matter how often I charge it, the battery finds a way to die. I use it a lot, but the battery usually lasted me 2 days before needing another charge. But now the battery is just ridiculous. I'll fully charge it, turn it off, and turn it backo n in the morning, and the battery's already half used up. How is that possible when the battery wasn't even in use? I don't get it. I pay for the insurance, so if it is a problem with the battery, would that cover it?

    As long as its not user error, your insurance will cover it (at no cost to you). That isnt normal BB behavior at all...

There's probably something wrong with your battery. If your warranty is still good, you should take it up to the store and they should give you a new one (I'm on AT&T not Verizon). I'm not sure about insurance though.You think that it'd cover it. Another problem may be that your background, screen saver, or whatever may be sucking your battery dry. Ones that have moving pictures are especially bad. But it's probably the battery.

I'm not sure if your insurance would cover the battery, it might be considered an "accessory". You know how these cell phone insurance plans work, they try to come up with anything NOT to help you or charge you an arm and a leg. Try to let your battery drain completely, then let it charge completely, like overnight. See if this works, otherwise it may be defective. Take it in to Verizon.
