Answer:
This is caused by the device having a low amount (or none at all) of memory (on the device; not referring to the microSD memory card). When the memory gets lower (lower than 12MB in some cases, although there is not a set number) the device will start deleting messages and/or call logs to conserve memory. You can check your available memory by going to Options > Status and checking the File Free parameter. The quickest way to free up some memory is to perform a hard reset. Remove the battery from the device (while it is still powered on) for about 30 seconds, then reinsert (this will also fix the camera zoom problem). Also, look at the links below for ways to maximize the memory: http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_free_up_memory_on_my_device%3F http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Why_is_my_BlackBerry_losing_its_call_logs_or_message_logs%3F

With the T-Mobile 8120 version this is a known issue. You need to click the "media" icon from the main menu (where it will then say music, videos, pictures) then click the menu button which will pull up a list, containing either "options" or "settings" and select it.. From that screen you should be able to adjust two different settings that pertain to reserved memory for media.. Drop them both down to their minimums (one is 12mb and the other is like 2 or 5mb I believe).. Once this is done take out the battery and put it back in to restart the phone, and make a call to see if it disappears from the call log.. If the problem persists and your phone is under warranty then call your carrier and they can troubleshoot further or send you a new phone

It is a feature of the phone that currently has no fix. It is meant to save on internal memory, but in the end is just annoying, and doesn't work right. Pull your battery out for 15 seconds and let it reboot, that will fix it.
