Iphone 4 sound doesnt work?

Ok so my iphone 4 sound doesnt work but if i put a ringtone setting you can hear the ringtone but if i try to play a youtube video it doesnt work. The blue bar on the youtube volume control does not show up. Help me fix this?

restart the phone. change the settings. turn up the volume. just try a bunch of things! :)
