Which is smart phone is better?

Blackberry Curve VS Sony Ericsson P1i Which is a Better Smart Phone?

  • So i wanted to get the Blackberry and Sony Ericsson users opinion. I have a Blackberry and i think its the best phone i had. But i want to upgrade and get a new phone and i was looking at some other smart phones and the ones that are in consideration are the Blackberry Curve and the Sony Ericsson P1i. I wanted to know what advantages one phone has over the other. I already know that the Sony Ericsson has a better camera(3.2megapixel), and it can record videos, touch screen and 3G for internet use to name a few. (add the ones i forgot) http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=us&lc=en&ver=4000&template=pip1&zone=pp&pid=10864 The blackberry Curve is a reliable phone and will not crash as often as the P1i, it has wifi and most of all its easier to use (add the ones i forgot). http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/device-detail.jsp?navId=H0,C221,P623 So i wanted to know what would be a better and cheaper phone to buy whit good features. Or other recommendations.

Hello; Well, it looks like you have already done all of the research yourself. There is little that I can add, other than my opinions, to what you have outlined above. I have used both, but I certainly have more stick-time on the Curve. Both are capable multimedia devices and offer a rich data, voice and browsing experience. For me, it is the Curve that comes out on top. I am an admitted BlackBerry fanboy so you will have to forgive my bias. One thing that I do much prefer on the Curve over the P1i is the keyboard. There is also no touch screen to damage or stylus to lose on the BlackBerry. I think that it boils down to your personal preference. I personally dislike touch screen devices, but if you have no issues with them, then either Smartphone will work for you. You may want to write out a list of exactly what you will be doing with your device. If secure end-to-end email is not on that list, you may want to save yourself some money and forgo the Curve for the P1i. If email is on that list, you might as well get the Curve and pay the extra fees for the BlackBerry data plan. Truly, no device on the market today does email as well as a BlackBerry. Also, in my experience, the Symbian OS found on the P1i is quite robust…certainly preferable to WM in my view. Is it on par with the BlackBerry OS….hmmm…that remains to be seen. ;-) Hope this helps (or at a minimum doesn’t add to the confusion)!
