How to connect blackberry 8520 to wifi?

Why can't I get my blackberry to connect to my wifi?

  • I've recently bought a BlackBerry Curve 8520, I love it apart from the fact it won't connect to my wifi. I have an Orange Livebox which works fine with my ipod and laptop but it just wont with my phone. Ive tried typing in the WEP code from the bottom of the box on scan for networks and tried through the other options as well but it just doesn't seem to want to work. Help please :) x

  • Answer:

Perhaps that you blackberry might not support WEP or that you might need to change the encryption settings on you router. WPA encryption is more secure than WEP and Blackberry uses tough encryption software so maybe Blackberries only support WPA. If your Blackberry is an enterprise phone, then your company may have blocked wifi. These are only common issues and because of the limit info, I can not really diagnose the problem.

I had a similar problem in 1958 when I couldn't connect my Grundig tape-recorder to a separate loudspeaker. Manufacturers are still not co-operating with each other. It got my goat then as it gets yours now.
