I detest blackberrys. That scrolling wheel is not very lefty-friendly for starters.

In my opinion, go for the BlackBerry 8800. I have an 8800, along with several other BB models, and can only provide you with positive feedback. Jared_e42 may be thinking about earlier BB models that used the thumbwheel mounted on the right side of the device for menu navigation– definitely difficult for a lefty to use without practice. The latest generation of BB’s (8100 series, 8800 series, 8300 series etc) all now use a centrally mounted trackball (similar to what you find on the SideKick) so lefties and righties are now on the same playing field. The SideKick is too bulky for my personal taste and I have found the BB operating system to be perhaps the most stable you will find on any handheld device. You may also hear people talk about the lack of BB 3rd party applications. While this may have been true at one point in the past, it is certainly not the case now. There are a plethora of apps ready and available for download – everything from games to push weather and movie times to productivity suites. Obviously the choice is yours, but be sure to look the specs of both devices over carefully…plus read the reviews. I am confident that you will find that the BB comes out on top almost every time! On a related note – if you were to instead look at the BlackBerry Curve (8300 series) you will find that you get everything that attracted you to the 8800, plus a 2.0 MP camera and a smaller form factor.
