Why is my palm pre offline?

Need Help! Should I get Palm Pre Plus or Droid Eris?

  • It's time for me to get a new phone and I have came down to choosing either Palm Pre Plus or the Droid Eris. Eris - http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=5070&changingCompletedOrder= Palm - http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=5129&changingCompletedOrder= I guess the biggest thing is that Palm Pre Plus has the hot spot feature which is pretty sweet though I have no idea if it works well. If I would use it, it'd be on car ride/trips so I could use my laptop even then I have no idea if it works exactly like that or not. Other then that feature I think i'd rather go with the Eris because of it being a android phone with all the apps and what not. I know Palm Pre has apps but from my understanding Palm Pre has a separate app store then the Android App store. I read a few reviews saying there isn't that many great apps on the Palm Pre but its still growing, while Android already has tons of apps. I just want to know some personal opinions on both phones. Thanks!

To be honest: if you need battery life, get the eris, if you can spend 20-40 bucks on an extra battery, get the pre plus. They both have wifi, 3g, and can serve as a mobile hotspot if correctly tethered. If you want to play games, then I would get the pre plus because it has more ram. The OS's compare pretty well to each other. The Pre Plus has an os that has tons of features and has multitasking, such as being able to read an email and go send a text message without closing your email. The eris doesn't feature multitasking. As of right now, the eris has a MUCH better app store then Palm's has. For music I would say the pre is a win because you can store much more songs and you will have an easier time syncing your music. For productivity, if you send lots of documents or receive lots of documents, you can view them on the pre, not the eris. In terms of clutter, organization and professionalism, I would say that the pre's webos is much more intuitive and easier to learn. In terms of browsing the web, the pre has a much easier to use and faster web browser than the eris does (palm's browser has been known to rival the iphones safari). For speakerphone, the eris' quality has much more clarity than the pre's. Another advantage that the pre has over the eris is a keyboard because the pre has a physical whereas the eris has a virtual one which is hard to type on if you have bigger hands. I have experienced both phones and I would end up going with the Palm Pre Plus if I were you. So far the pre plus has a 4/5 user rating on cnet and the eris has a 3.5/5 user rating on cnet. The current deals on these phones are: Palm Pre Plus: Buy one for 149.99 and get one free Droid Eris by HTC: Buy one for 80.00 and get one free

A droid is always good. If you root your phone, then you can make it a wifi hotspot.

I wud go with the droid bc the pre plus is sortta complicated and theres not many apps. But if u no how 2 use the pre then u shud get it.

Didn't Wanna Do It

Well I previously had the HTC Droid Eris. The first day I took it to Ohio State with me it died ten minutes after my last class ended. It only stayed charged for 3.5 hours. Its battery life sucks bad. Verizon said we had a month after we got it to take it back for something else if we didnt like it. I decided to find ways to save my batter it helped a little but not much. I took it back within 5 days and got the Motorola Droid. It's battery life is amazing no matter what I use it for or what applications i have up. I recommend the Droids because the android market is so massive but I do not recommend the Eris only the Moto Droid.
