I can't figure out what this little symbol is on my new blackberry pearl flip?

top left- looks like a little square that is green with a little white cross and a red dot...next to it there is a #, it said 3 and now it says 4..help..thanks

I believe that MIGHT be your missed calls. Try calling it and hanging up and see if that number increases. If you go into your messages you should see some sort of notifications of missed calls. If this is actually the case, then if you delete those notifications in your messages that number you see should go down. I've owned lots of BlackBerry devices, but this symbol sounds unusual. Although they tend to change up the graphics on each new "theme" that gets released.
