Blackberry Pearl from AT&T?

Blackberry Pearl 101?

  • So out of all the blackberries...is the pearl the cheapest? I won't be using it for email or anything, I just want a blackberry! How much will it be if my plan is from Rogers? Also...what's the difference. * BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 * BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8110 * BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8130

  • Answer:

Yes, the Pearl is the least expensive of the Blackberry models currently offered by Rogers. The 8130 has the same features as the 8110 but it's designed for a CDMA network (like Telus) so it will not work on Rogers. Although the 8100 and 8110 physically look identical, the 8110 is a much better model as it is the "second generation" Pearl. Among the improvements made to the 8110: * Video recording (the 8100 can only take still pics) * 2.0MP camera (the 8100 has 1.2MP) * Biggest difference is GPS included on 8110 (none on the 8100) * Much brighter flash on the 8110 * The 8110 is dark blue, the 8100 is either red or black * The 8110 includes a 1GB Micro SD card free ($25 value) the 8100 does not * On the 8100 the battery needs to be removed to insert the Micro SD card, on the 8110 there is a new easy-access side panel where it can be inserted Those are the main differences. Currently Rogers is listing the 8100 for $124.99 on a 3-yr term and the 8110 for $249.99. For the money, the 8110 is a much better option.
