My blackberry pearl- my call log keeps disappearing and can't see who called when i have a missed call. HELP!!

Well this phone is great but two problems i have encountered is that I can never see who's call I've missed, my call log keeps dissapearing every time I lock it. I also noticed that I have not been able to answer phone calls, when someone is calling I try to answer and it wont pick it up most of the time it just shows the sand time icon. If anyone knows how I can fix this let me know. Thanks
