What use is a First Generation iPod Touch?
-
I found a First Generation iPod Touch at a flea market (it's OK - it's been checked for fleas), but cannot see what use it is. It is running iOS 2.2.1, and appearently cannot be up-graded/-dated. I know what these devices do (I already own a MacBook Air, iPad 2, and an iPod Touch 4th Gen), but the computer does not recognize it when I connect it via USB, and I cannot download anything from iTunes because the iOS is so dated. I was thinking that the device was jail-broken at some point (it has an enormous music catalog in it of over 1300 songs), and was thinking that I could reset the device and then re-activate it with iTunes. The risk may be that I will never be able to re-activate it after I reset it. Does anyone have experience with these old iPods?
