Why is my blackberry deleting all my messages and recent calls?

Why is my blackberry not receiving and deleting my messages?

  • I have an 8130 Blackberry Pearl. Just recently, my phone stopped allowing me to receive text messages. Not only that, but it is deleting text messages from my inbox. When I send a message I see it's there, yet when I go back to "messages" just moments later it's gone... Also, my blackberry messenger is not working. When someone sends me a message I receive it, I respond, then when they send their next response it opens and entirely new conversation. I have to go to "Close Conversation" and then click on their name again to see what they had sent next. Most responses I find recommend purchasing a memory card, however I have a memory card already in my phone. I have no clue why my phone is doing this.... Any help? I never should have switched to Bell... fjgbjgbgjh

Usually... usually... you will lose messages and not even get messages when your inbox gets too full. The memory can only hold so much. One thing you can do is not have your missed calls listed in your inbox since they show up on your call log too. I don't think a memory card will help because your messages are stored on the internal memory and that's limited. If you have any applications installed that you're not using, uninstall them. That will free up some space and give you more room for your messages. Not sure if you're "saving" any of your messages, but that can take up some room too. Go to "View Saved Messages" and see what in there. Might be a lot. You can also deleted an entire block of messages. If you want to delete everything from a particular day back, you can just scroll to that date and press the Pearl button in the middle. Select "Delete Prior" and it will deleate ... well, all prior messages. If you want to keep just todays or this weeks or whatever. Another way to delete a block of messages is to hold down the Shift button and scroll down (or up) with the pearl until you've selected the block of messages you want to delete. Once you have the memory cleared out, I would suggest pulling your battery and restarting your Blackberry. That should do it.
