  With all BlackBerry devices you have to have a BlackBerry data plan in order to get the BlackBerry push e-mail. If you have a data plan than yes, you can have the Wi-Fi radio on and still get e-mails. But if you are looking to get the push e-mail via Wi-Fi WITHOUT a data plan, that won't work. There are some free alternative e-mail programs that work with the BlackBerry, and don't require a data plan. Logicmail is one, and tiggit mail is another. I believe they both work via Wi-Fi, and they check the accounts every so often for e-mail.
