Do i need internet on my phone to use blackberry messenger?

  • i just got a blackberry and im trying to use the blackberry messenger with my friend and i sent a request to her but she never got it and i never got her request either but it said we sent requests to each other. do we need internet for it to work? or should it work without any kind of internet?

there is no reason to have a smartphone/pda if you do not have an internet plan. from my understanding of blackberry messenger,yes you do need internet.

BB Messenger IM requires data package, as well as for the internet, email, "pinning", all require data. Its worth it, hope you decide to get it, you WILL get your moneys worth.

I dont know about your carrier. I have sprint pcs and they require that you sign up for the blackberry plan which includes the internet.
