Question about Blackberry pearl?

Blackberry pearl question?

  • I bought this blackberry pearl from my friend, and it didnt come with the disk that would allow me to transfer files from my computer to the pearl and vice versa. After looking through Y!A, it said I had to go to the blackberry site. I did, and I went to desktop manager download.. Then it took me to a drop down list, with lots of choices and I don't know which one to use. I took a chance and downloaded the BlackBerry(R) Desktop Software Version 4.2.2. It downloaded, and now I don't know what to do from there. I went to Start > Programs > Blackberry> Blackberry Device Manager, and nothing happened. Please provide me step by step guidance on how to work this thing. I have Windows XP, and a USB cord that works. What do I do from here? I want to be able to transfer ringtones, pictures, videos, etc onto my phone from my computer. But I have no idea how.

  • Answer:

If you want to transfer pics/mp3's, you need the desktop manager with media, located here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=2EDDC7F4DD85E60E10D22C81D7A66609 I would first un-install the desktop manager have. Congrats on trying to figure it out yourself first, that is awesome. Once you download and install, connect your BB and wait for it to say "connected" and then go into the media manager icon on the desktop manager. From there you should be able to figure it out. Good luck.
