What's the best instant messenger for blackberry?

Can you use the instant messenger feature on BlackBerry phones internationally? - UK-US?

  • Ive recently found out that BB mobile phones have an instant Messenger feature and as it uses its own servers instead of a phone operators I wonder could the IM be used - internationally ? like for example the UK - US or vise versa ? Ive never owned a BB or used one close up.

    Hey, Yes indeed! This IM feature is called BBM and you can use it to message any of your friends who have a BlackBerry for free! You need to have a BlackBerry data bundle added to your tariff before you can start using it though. BBM can be used internationally too providing you have data roaming active or are using a local Wi-Fi connection. Bear in mind that if you use BBM abroad through data roaming, you will be charged extra. It's best to check any data roaming costs with your network before you go abroad, just so you don't get any nasty surprises when you get home! Hope this helps :) Louise

Yes as long as you have the blackberry bundle added to your normal tariff plan. If you want to take it abroad holiday and use it then make sure your service provider has enabled you for roaming

Yes, you can chat anywhere in the world with people who also has BB messenger. You can also exchange pictures and voice messages. It's really fun!
