Should I get the BlackBerry Curve 8530, HTC Snap (Windows Mobile 6.1), or Samsung Instinct for Sprint?
-
I'm going to be getting a new phone soon, and I have narrowed it down to these 3 that I am considering. BlackBerry Curve 8530- I like the BlackBerry because of BlackBerry's "App World" and BBM, and it seems to have a lot of apps out there for BlackBerrys. HTC Snap- I like the look of the Snap more than the BlackBerry, but I don't know if I will like Windows Mobile, and I don't know if there are a lot of apps for Windows Mobile. Samsung Instinct s30- I'm really sketchy feeling about this one, because I don't know if I'll like the touch screen keyboard, and being that it is not a smartphone, there may not be apps for it like the BlackBerry and Snap will have. Which one should I get? This is for sprint, btw.

Answer:
I personally would not recommend the Instinct, esp. if you aren't sure about the full-touchscreen aspect. Some of the phone's features are nice and I really like the menu layouts and the basic navigations of the phone, but it has it's downfalls: The keyboard for texting takes some getting used to, no chance of texting without paying full attention, and with mine it frequently pushes the letter next to the one I am trying to push. Also, (my whole family got these about a year ago) we have all had a problem with when you go to call the first person on your speed dial it will seem unresponsive and then when you touch the name again it suddenly snaps to your contact list and picks the first contact and replaces your old speed dial number with this contact. Very annoying! And no, there aren't many useful apps. And I just personally don't like the fact that it's all touchscreen. I've had this phone for a year and am now looking at buying a blackberry.

I recommend the BB Curve. I have one and the apps and everything make it worthwhile. Plus RIM is a very well trusted company. I recommend the Curve.
