How does GPS work on the BlackBerry?

Gps on blackberry curve 8520 dont work?

eve since a operating system upgrade about a couple of months ago i have not been able to turn my gps feature on. these are the steps i take: settings> options> advance options> GPS. then there is GPS options services. if i click it, it should give two options, location off or on. but it doesn't do that. it only gives the off option and i cant scroll up or down to choose the on. i need this on so my apps like "point" work. i have done the classic pull battery thing to see if anything changed but no. it still doesn't give me the on option. any other way i can turn this on so my apps that need gps location work?
