How can I fix my PSP??

How can I fix my bricked psp?

  • When I was updating my psp, I put it down and accidentally switched it off. Now all here is when I try to turn it on is a green light for a few seconds. My friend said I should get a new memory stick, but I don't want to buy anything to fix it. I also don't want to download anything onto my computer. Is there any way for me to fix my psp 1001 without any of those things? Or do I need those things? I tried ebay and craigslist but I would also like to fix this one so my brother and I don't have to share a psp.

  • Answer:

If you are not prepared to reload firmware downloaded onto your pc which you then transfer onto an empty Memory Stick for transfer to your PSP then you only have one remaining choice: you must send the unit to a Sony Service Center and pay for repairs. There is no quick, free, magic fix. You've bricked your PSP and the firmware must be re-flashed onto the EEPROM. Sony Service Centers are your best bet; there's a fixed price for the job whatever it takes, and if the machine is toast then they send you a refurbished exchange unit.
