My Micro sd card will not work with my new phone. Why?

Why won't my Micro SD card work in my phone?

  • I have a Micro SD card for my phone and I've used it in the past putting songs/ringtones on it from my computer. Recently I got a new phone (but it's the same exact phone as I used the card in before) and when I try to open my memory card files on my phone it says "Not allowed". When I put the card into the adapter and put it in my computer it says that it needs to be formatted. So I click yes format. It then says it can not be formatted because it is write protected or it can not be formatted (I've tried it in a couple computers). How can I fix this?

  • Answer:

    Go to Options, then Advanced Options, go to Media Card, select media Card, once in hit the menu button and that should bring up the option to format.
