• So it's time for me to get a new phone. Right now I have prepaid but I'm planning on getting either an iPhone 4, iPhone 5 (when it comes out) or a Blackberry Bold Touch 9900. The thing is, I don't know which phone to get ! I would get the unlimited student plan for $55 a month that includes 200 minutes, unlimited calling after 6pm, unlimited weekends, 1GB of data, unlimited social networking, unlimited messaging and MY10. I heard the Blackberry uses less GB to surf the web than the iPhone but I think 1GB is enough for either phone. So I love to text, i don't call too often but I love apps and listening to music. I don't have an iPod touch, if that makes a difference. I really like the speed and look of the iPhone, but all my friends have blackberries and love BBM. I'm getting a 3 year contract. Oh and I have a MacBook so does that make syncing easier for the iPhone? Is BBM coming to the iPhone??? Last question; can you chat on Facebook with the iPhone? I know with Blackberries you can't.   It all depends on your purpose for it is. If you want it for games and cool apps, go with the iPhone, but if you want it for business and don’t want the annoying, time wasting apps, then go with BlackBerry. I did some research when looking for a smartphone a few years ago. A couple of venture capitalists bought an iPhone and a BlackBerry to compare for business. Their conclusion: BlackBerry is a business tool where as the iPhone is a toy. One is good for business and the other is good for playing with. It all depends on why you want/need one. You can't pin to pin from iPhone to Blackberry and visa versa, so if that's one feature you want, and your friends have BlackBerys, go with a BlackBerry. You can sync a BlackBerry and iPhone with your computer. I have a Mac. and a Blackberry. They sinc. easilly. I can not see BlackBerry Messenger ever being incorporated to iPhones I have a BlackBerry Storm2 and I can, indeed, chat on FaceBook with it. As far as I know, you can on an iPhone too. As far as music goes, if you have a 16gb memory chip, you can have loads of songs on your BlackBerry or iPhone with memory to spare. BlackBerry is slower on surfing the net than the iPhone though. The iPhone has more apps available compared to the BlackBerry They both have awesome built in security The BlackBerry has a longer battery life as far as charging between uses goes. A friend of mine (with an iPhone) went to Ireland last month. it didn't work save for the built-in features: music and other files already on the memory card, the built in calendar and the like, but he had no phone, internet or texting et cetera service, where as with the BlackBerry, it's truly international. So, like I said earlier, it all depends on what you want/need it for. Both are very good smartphones. If you want a toy for now, but something less distracting for business later, you might want an iPhone for now, then when later comes, trade it in for a BlackBerry. But if pin to pin is important to you, the BlackBerry is the smartphone to go with. Ether way, good luck deciding. For me? I went the business rout.
