How do I clean my Blackberry keyboard?

Is it safe to clean my blackberry keyboard with antibacterial hand gel?

• some sort of liquid has gone inside my blackberry keyboard causing it to go sticky. is it safe to put antibacterial hand gel on it to try and clean it? or will this make it worse? or are there any other ways apart from taking everything apart?

  Turn the phone off, take the battery out of the phone SIM and memory cards, leave the back off the phone. Get a soft tooth brush and a bottle of Alcohol. Dip tooth brush in a cap or shallow dish of alcohol, tap most of the alcohol out of the brush (you want it damp, not wet) and lightly rub the keys. Allow keyboard to air dry and check after 10 mins to see if the keys are still sticky. If they are, repeat the process with a fresh cap/dish of alcohol. (clean the tooth brush between keyboard cleanings). Very helpful to have the keyboard facing down (facing the floor) to prevent liquid (even alcohol) from getting down in behind the keyboard, but since alcohol evaporates rather quickly, but while phone is being cleaned and is drying, the keyboard should be facing down and allowed to dry on something that allows for air flow to aid in the evaporation. Then once the phone is completely dry and no longer sticky, (give it at least an half an hour just to be double sure if you have done repeated cleaning attempts). Once dry, put the cards and battery back into the phone and boot it up.
