It really depends on what you want to do. If all you need is a basic PDA for addresses, contact data and to do lists, get an entry level Palm. If, however, you plan to use your PDA as a computer fom time to time, a Pocket PC with the Windows Mobile OS or a high-end Palm like the Lifedrive might be a better choice. Additionally, smartphones, like the Treo 650 are also very popular as they combine PDA functionality with a cellphone, wireless Internet and e-mail. This is the one that I personally use. I find it to be much easier to have it all in one device. Good luck.

All answers are subjective as you have not indicated what factors the PDAs should be judged by. That said, my current PDA is a Zire72. It does the usual calendar, contacts, tasks & memos, scratchpad, games, calculator, it also features a still/video camera with photo album capability, a voice recorder, and an MP3 player. It features Bluetooth connectivity and has a rechargeable battery that seems to last a week between recharges. When I broke one in Kuwait, I called my folks in a panic and asked them to shoot an exact replacement over to me. It retails for about $300. If you add the phone capability, now it is a Treo but costs twice as much.

I have the Zire 31, the cost is starting to go down. It has: a color screen, writting tablet, calander, free stuff to download onto the computer.. I really love it. Look at the reviews on the source website.
