How do you wire a telephone extension?

Question regarding using telephone extension?

  • Hi, i have a question regarding using an extension, once i dial the number, and if nobody picks up the phone and there is no automated voice with instructions, can i still use and dial the extension number given so i can just connect straight through to the person without the need for the landline to be picked up or any automated voice ect? or?, when i have been getting no answer from the landline, it goes to voicemail and please leave a message after the tone, shall after that has occured, then should i dial the extension?, or basicaly is there a way i can still dial an extension without anybody picking up the phone to direct me through or without an automated system doing it?

    If you call a number and do not get a person to redirect your call or an automated prompt to enter the extension number you are pretty much out of luck. You can try blind dialing the extension number but don't hold your breath.

It really depends on what type of system they have. Just follow the prompts. If there is no prompt for dialing an extension then their system cannot handle your request.
