Do long distance calls charge the caller or the receiver?

Do hotels have caller id.?

  • i called over into spain where someone i know is styaing, and im wondering do they have caller id in the rooms, someone told me they do at the front desk to know who to charge for long distance calls. if so if i blocked out my number before i called, like the *67(blockcode) and then dialed would it still show. cause here when you do it it comes up unknown number, or blocked caller, im wondering what its like over in spain

  • Answer:

caller ID and international calls is tricky... many times the CID is not accurate, it might just provide an access number to one of the telephone companies terminating the call... while other times it might pass along your caller ID - if *67 will work to block your caller ID from being sent on an international question... again that would be hit or miss... one of the carriers terminating the call could just pick up your ANI data and display that as caller ID... the hotel should have caller ID at least at the receptionist, but it is unlikely that the room phones have caller ID... regardless incoming calls to the room should not be charged to the room.. so you should be able to call the person that you want with out having to worry that it will charge them on their hotel bill.. and the hotel can not make charges to your phone bill... you phone company however would charge you for the international call.. if you do not know how to make an international call then you can check out this site for how to dial the number.. http://www.howtocallabroad.com/spain/
