How do I deal with harassing phone calls?

How to stop harassing phone calls?

  • Somebody has been calling us for the last 3 months on our home phone. He calls at 3 in the morning, sometimes 4, 5 in the morning and just bowlshits. Most of the time i dont understand what he is saying, but the worst part is that it has been bothering my family very much. How can i find out who he is, where he is calling from????? I realy want to do something about it but i dont know how to find out who he is. Any suggestions??

  • Answer:

Call your phone company. Tell them that you want to open a complaint with the "Annoyance Department". They will also want you to tell the local police that you are receiving annoyance calls. The Annoyance dept will want you to document the time and date when the calls come in, this way, they can look at the call records and proceed to stop the calls. The reason for the police report is incase the telco needs to press legal charges

Other answers

One option is to contact your phone company. They should have on record a listing of the phone numbers that call you. Explain your situation to them. They might have a way to block the number from calling you, or at least tell you what other options you have.

If you're willing to press charges and make it a legal matter, use the Trace feature *57 after the call. Then call your local law enforcement office and file a complaint. Carl
