How to get water out of a phone?

  • I dropped my phone in the pool and now there is water in it, it still turns on but on the inside where the keyboard is the OK button works and then it doesn't and when it does work, it goes straight to the volume as well as other buttons. Does dry rice work? Are there any other things I can do?

    if the phone got wet you should remove the battery immediately, otherwise further damage can occur... with the battery removed, submerge it into alcohol briefly which will displace the water and evaporates quickly.... allow to dry before replacing the battery... also you can place the phone in a bowl of rice, which should absorb the water over night...

Your phone is probably toast if it was on when it fell in the water, or was turned on with water inside. The problem is that the water is between at least on piece of flexible plastic/rubber compound sheet and a circuit board, so you would need to dismantle the phone, very carefully, you could dry it with a hair dryer. Check to make sure that there are not deposited material on the phone parts and reassemble the phone. Pretty much it.
