Which is better - capacitive touch screen phones or resistive touch screen phones?

What's the difference in capacitive or resistive touch screen phones?

  • can u plz give me examples of phone that use thes types of touch screens.

  • Answer:

Basically, Restive is activated by a finger's pressure on the display's surface. (examples: Samsung Instinct, LG Dare, HTC) Capacitive is activated by detecting a finger’s electrical charge on the display's surface. (examples: iPhone, BlackBerry Storm, G1 Android) For more information in detail see the link to the Article referenced in the Source

Other answers

I prefer the capacitive touch screen, such as in Blackberry and Iphone. Just a very light touch will signal a capacitive change and activate the button.. On 'resistive' type touchpads, I notice a bit more pressure is needed to activate the button or display. (Just my preference.)

The article the first answerer gave answers your question well. But, I think both kinds are somewhat flaky. I like FotoDialer because it connects into your phone and there are no flaky, breaking down prone screens to push. You put in wallet sized pictures and push a button NEXT to the picture.
