I live in maryland and my phone service wont allow collect calls and i need to talk to my sister jail?

Call the jail. They have prepaid phone cards that they can get to the inmates. You simply send the money to your sister via the jail (they will tell you exactly how to do it).Then your sister can call you.

your phone company more then likely will allow collect calls, but not from jails.. since last i checked, MCI handles collect calling from jails. the people at the jail should be able to provide you with the appropriate numbers for who to get in touch with, but basically you need to put money into an account, like a pre-paid account, and the calls are credited against the balance of that account.. contact your local phone provider to ask them for information about this, and who you need to call to set this up..

Do you have long distance ?,if you have it sometimes that helps..but you can buy a calling card or I think they have this new system where people can call you from jail on your cellphone.

What if your brother in jail pays for them you can send money to his account so he can get a phone card. You can not use prepaid cards from a store and send it too him, it won't work. Can he not call then as they are essentially prepaid calls.

Make sure you have LOTS OF MONEY on that card or in that account as they are ALL VERY VERY EXPENSIVE since they are making money by the MINUTES used. You don't get a whole lot of minutes on your calls so your just eating up your money in your account or on your calling card. So make sure there is LOTS ON IT or you'll run out in no time at all .
