The prank call was it really the police?

How can I find out who made a prank call without going to the police?

  • Last night at 4 AM, my phone was on the table next to me, and I got some strange prank call from a restricted number. I didn't answer, I was half asleep, but they left me a voicemail on my phone saying something about looking like a mouse and being a piece of bird sh** and stuff. I think it was just kids, but I want them to be warned. Its very annoying when people leave messages on your phone like that. Any help? I dont want to take measures to the police, no threats were made. The caller ID said "RESTRICTED NUMBER''.

    I agree with the response above - call your telephone company and report to them what's happening. They might even somehow trace the number for you...

keep the voice mail and call your phone service provider.. tell them what's going on and they should put a tracer on it.

i would recomend just take it as someone being silly and forget about it ... also regardless who dials you and it shows up on your phone as restricted or with-held or private thats just their preferance how ever the telephone exchange knows the number that called you and your network provider and thiers if different a provider both know the number the call come from how ever they would never allow you to know this unless there was police or court involvement long gone are days of call tracing the number is logged in and recorded b4 the line starts to ring regardless of if they restrict the send of their number the computers know who when and where it was made regardless of who made the call and how they choose to make it
